FISHING
Tell me sumptin….. You ever known anybody with just an absolute cornucopic plethera of knowledge and information of anything? Good or bad, annoying as hell, or just a good ole boy who's fun to be around. Well, I've known several of all the above and one thing I've learned it's not who you get the information from but how valuable it becomes to you when you use it. I kinda relate it to either counting cards or knowing how many spots are on the table before you slap that next domino down and do the icky shuffle on your way to bone victory! I bought my first 2 man bass hunter boat when i was 16. I use to spend the night in the back of my 74' ford 7 shades of green pick up at the northern boat ramps of Lake Lavon. I'd let the sun wake me up in the morning, fire up the hi tech trolling motor with all 4 speeds and cruise all of a couple hundred yards out in the trees and fish for anything that ended in bass. Black bass, white bass, spotted bass or smallmouth bass. So I learned early what to fish with, how to fish it, how shallow or how deep. I graduated to bigger boats and more sophisticated toys and have passed on knowledge and experience to friends, family, and whoever else would listen to my advice or stories. What classifies as good advice? Your pals that take the same baits you use and send you pics on your phone of fish that are bigger than anything I've ever set a hook on. What makes a good story? The fact that mine get 10 minutes longer every time I tell it, or, how I could measure the fish every time it jumped out the water to perfect size and spit my bait back at me as I hear that tungston weight go wizzin by my ear from not setting that worm hook like I was supposed to. SO! Story or advice? Hey….. Even I've won a club tournament or two, who hasn't? But there are still folks out there that need a little help on the basics when they put the boat on the big pond. Most lakes, I said most lakes….. are the same when it comes to time n temperature, day or night, hot or cold. And yep! I have my personal favorites for puttin'm in the livewell. I'm in Texas but weather will vary from state to state. There's not a single one of these baits that haven't been proven to at least make ya reach for the net. I ain't sure how I'm gunna keep up with it yet, but! I will have a section or gallery for braggin rights. SO!!! Poker
Gotta be one of my favorite indoor/outdoor non contact Saturday night, or any night events. Well….. I say non contact, or at least it will always start out that way. That will all depend on whether you can hold that poker face or hold ya liquor like a responsible adult can do. I can do it and I know you can too! Why am i interested in this stone faced, high stakes but friendly game of liars poker? This Texas Hold'm mind set that secretly we all can see each others 2 holding cards because we've all spent hours watching WPT reruns and we're all just one superpot away from diving into the BIG pile on money in the middle of the table. Have i ever seen the big pile? U betcha!! After Thanksgiving dinner at my brother's house, about 8 of us surrounded the once filled table of horn a plenty and turkey with a real cool gravy boat. I let the entire supper stuffed crazy 8 poker peeps eliminate each other until i bluffed that final pot with minimal effort and BOOM..... my one and only hoorah as a poker champion! truth is, i couldn't whoop myself from one side of that table to the other. BUT...... i did learn that in order to play the game right, like any sport, ya gotta have the right toys for the noise!

You see that little orange critter right there? Listen to me! That thang can make ya more frustrated than a 3 legged 1 eyed dog tryin to bury a bone on a frozen pond! I guarantee it has caused enough grief to make ya wanna give up this little wonderful Saturday afternoon ticked off adventure we call golf. BUT, have no fear! Corn Hole
Tell me right now….. When was the last time you invited the family or crew over and didn't have anything to keep'm busy. Nuttin for the pregame to accomidate every pull tab yanked in honor of the home team. And you STILL….. cannot shut up that uninvited twit over there full of stats and reasons why the local heroes are gunna go down 3 hours later.

Do I have a biggo story or favorite time when i sent the soft bagga beans 8 feet into the air as everybody stood watchin n waitin to see if i was gunna sink that 27 foot toss? Did anybody hold their hands up high in congratulations of the most incredible hurl of the day? NOPE! Wanna know why? Because i suck at the redneck roundup pitchin festival!! Bowling
Yes Sir! Yes Sir! Nowwwww we're talkin my sport! I can go to my grave n say that I've hoisted a PBA trophy. As winner of the 2012 PBA Firelake Flintco Open I can say this non contact sport is for everybody that can either walk or wheel up to the foul line! I've coached high school to state status and given personal lessons for 25 years. A couple of 800 series and more 300's than the guy next door, I felt like including this sport was a no brainer. Ya damn right I said sport! I don't care how many people say bowling ain't a sport, you will lose that argument EVERY time! I've spent 30 years in one of the most competitive regions out of the original 7 and I ain't done or dead yet so I will continue to pay my dues as long as I can. I don't care if your left handed, right handed, one handed or two handed, I've taught'm all and watched several generations evolve and make this game easier and easier. I don't think....i know, that the talent along with mesmerizing equipment has become available to every walk of life in this sport. From the tiniest bumper bowler to the younsters in their 80's, along with simply the love of the game, bowling is still till this day one of the most participated sports on the planet!
When it comes to equipment, most drilling purchases by all rights should come from your local pro shop when it comes to fitting your fingers, thumb and span. BUT! There are a lot of awesome choices including balls, bags and jerseys out there that might be a cool choice for either league or you weekend warriors trying to make this weekend's tournament your best ever!
